The drums of war had stirred without the propagation of any such attack. The time was now to begin the takeover of the known world, to begin the eventual reign of what would become a lifelong rule. There was much preparation to the attack before a target was even chosen.
Trees from the forest along the border of my main city were carefully cut, focusing mostly on overgrowth and old-growth rather then any new growth, to allow the forest to eventually repair itself. These logs, branches, and stumps were not immediately turned into anything and were stored and carried to whatever site would be the war-camp. The obvious use for these logs would be for the construction of the beachhead that would be used to push into whatever castle I decided to attack, and for ladder and ramming structures.
Many goods were transported between my own city and Axcel's, our combined specialties making for a perfect duo. While my own city produced raw materials, his used these to create necessary war-goods; swords, shields, armor, bows & arrows, etc. These goods were then obviously used to arm our troops, without much expense to us, by not having to bother buying anything from any third party. It was for this reason that this part of the preparation was faster than all others.
Castle-towns in my region were known by the fact that their were trade-routes between cities. Thus, it was by this same merit that we had chosen the best place to attack, knowing relatively full well how defended they were and their troop count. Sakurano Town was a perfect target in more than one way, the main driving force behind the attack being it's regional good, rice. While we had the means to arm our troops we did not have the means to feed them, wasting precious yen on purchasing this food from ironically, Sakurano Town.
A site was picked near the town that was a relatively open area, with a vantage of sight toward the town. This gave us the space to create our beachhead, and the means to see if a counterattack was mounting. The beachhead was nothing more than a crude wooden gated area, with wooden structures akin to small watchtowers to spot for counterattacks. Within the gated area were small hut-like structures, fashioned mostly of wood, to house the units. Small wooden ramparts lay riddled about the place, to be carried in the event of the impending assault, again, a defense against counterattack — specifically arrows.
It took but a few hours of labor to set up the camp just a few miles away from the town, close enough to rush for an attack, but far enough to not be readily discernible without some sort of advanced scouting party. Of course I counted on this surprise to leave my opponent warlord unprepared, and the victory swift.
"Send an unarmed Militia to give the notice. If they do not surrender our attack will commence in approximately fifteen minutes. Alert me of any status on Axcel, and bring me Yuhwa!" Orders were barked as per the chain of command, all was set on a stage poised for victory.

The captain that was here of the Itsuka clan was nto dressed too much like a civil man. He had prayer beads around his neck and his kimono was dirty. no hakama or pants covered hi legs only his undergarment. Finally another manned dressed as revealing came to the captain "Sir! a Messenger!". The captain than spoke "well send him in!" thus he did sending in a man "what do you want..". From there the militia told him about the surrender. Of course the captain being reckless flipped his table on the militia than shot a arrow into his head holding him down under table with his own weight.
"Fool! Itsuka Clan does not surrender!! HAHA!" With that the Itsuka clan that had resided here, 95 samurai got ready for war. Weather it was reckless or not they payed no mind. They were once nomadic people the Itsuka who came over from the other island. Still acted as nomads but only settled down now. The Captain had a bow and arrow as he had 95 samurai at his command, this city was full of samurai and workers but he did not make the workers fight or else how would Itsuka clan get rice.
The clan ordered them out they all walked out the city gates all on foot. The captain at the front with his bow and arrows. One of the Itsuka clans most trusted captains. "Where are yea Sakamoto!! Come out!" They began marching out a little further in hopes of finding the Sakamoto Forces.
BATTLE BEGIN!!

So this was it—Sakurako Town, a small village filled with nomadic workers and warriors alike. The barbaric nomads hadn't the slightest clue how lucky they were. Lucky to be the first of many towns to be forced under Sakamoto rule. Once the unification of Nippon is complete, historians all throughout the country will speak of this day—the day the Sakamoto clan began its conquest. Axcel grinned at the thought of their conquest as he approached Ryuichi’s camp, able to hear the Shogun giving out his orders already.
“Yo~!” he spoke with a carefree demeanor when he saw Ryuichi. “My troops are in position and ready.” Axcel immediately got to the point, knowing that bit of info was what Ryuichi would have asked had he waited any longer. Though the armor Axcel’s men wore was engraved with his clan’s crest, they carried the Sakamoto banner. In fact, other than the crest, their equipment would look identical to an enemy on the battlefield. Their troops, united in their cause, were entirely at the command of Sakamoto Ryuchi. He casted his gaze towards the town, dwelling on the upcoming battle as he awaited orders from Ryuichi.
The ninety or so nomads of Sakurako Town would rue the day that they had to feel the full brunt of the Sakamoto forces—the full brunt of more than six hundred soldiers. Even if they did attempt to fight rather than surrender, their morale would decline rapidly. Samurai or not—they were ambitious-less nomads who were not only outnumbered six to one, but out matched as well. The Sakamoto Forces were better trained, better organized, and would following orders from a tactician among tacticians. It clear that the amount of troops brought were unecessary considering the odds would be in their favor even if they didn’t outnumber the enemy—so one had to ask, why bring so many? Paranoia of possible defeat? Hardly. Axcel felt it was obvious—complete and absolute victory in Sakurako Town would likely send shockwaves throughout Tsukishi, and perhaps even all of Nippon, spreading word of the Sakamoto clan. Samurai as well as young soldiers hungry for honor and glory would seek them out and join them in their cause, while enemies would cower at their new opposition.
The divided country would soon be one.

Having spent much of the last week undertaking the grueling task of crossing through the Yamabushi Mountains and avoiding the detection of Sakurako Town’s allies to the North in Miyazaki, members of the Uematsu clan were anxiously awaiting a chance to enter the fray with their newfound allies. As daybreak’s bell rang, bringing the men from their slumber in their camp, the Uematsu Forces prepared for battle, ready to completely wipe out all who opposed their advances. The new world order was upon them, but was the world ready to look its new leaders in the face?
Destroying all traces of their camp, the Uematsu marched onward, rejuvenated and prepared for armed combat. Having not actually met the leaders of the Sakamoto forces, the first time that they would meet would be as they crossed blades with the Itsuga clan. Messengers had gone back and forth from Takogun and Tengoku mapping out the strategy of todays events. While they would come from one direction, the Uematsu Clan would attack from the other side while their backs were turned.
While it was common knowledge that the Sakamoto and Zenryouku clans worked closely together, the Uematsu would prove to be a wild card, and their arrival would be completely unexpected, even if the Itsuga Clan was ready for the Sakamoto Forces... which they weren’t. Lead by their leader, Daiseijin, the Uematsu Clan moved into position. The enemy was surrounded, and grossly outnumbered in what would be a powerful display of the power of the combined forces.
They waited for the first blow to be dealt, remaining undetected in the distance.

The nomad captain marched with him and his 95 samurai out far from the castle. "Lets fight these fools head on!" the captain shouted men all yelling with excitement. They finally saw a base on the horizon near the ocean and they shouted. "There they are! hiding in their camp!" With these words they began their march towards the enemy base. The captain fired of an arrow into the base to give them a warning. Their yells and feet were heard as they approached the base, they were not too close yet.
Finally they stopped outside the camp looking upon it still a good distance away. The captain said "Prepare yourselves men! we will push back these fools!". The nomads than began to march one again towards the camp that sat at beach side. Once in range volleys of arrows came down upon the nomadic men. Leaving many dead the captain only ran forward, the captain shot at one of the archers making one drop. He was a keen shot and very deadly with any object he could throw or shoot. Only a few men made it passed and even they were being shot at by arrows. Although it is harder to shoot moving targets dead on. The nomad captain and maybe two other men made it into the camp. Even then it would not matter.
The men that dident make it in were still being shot at trying to get away from arrows. Some not dead only injured being crippled and unable to fight back now. Others still tried to push forward into the camp.

“Ha! They’re actually going to fight?” Axcel chuckled to himself as he found out of the nomad’s reckless charging. A good number of them would have been eliminated from the initial wave of arrows sent by Ryuichi’s forces--with more to follow should they continue charging. Knowing that the opposition had made their move, Axcel knew that now was the time to strike. Axcel’s forces would flank the nomads from the side—catching the already wounded force off guard.
The boy gave the signal and his troops moved out without hesitation. They opened up with a volley of arrows from all of Axcel’s archers. In addition to Ryuichi’s volley of arrows, the nomads would be hard pressed to avoid so many arrows raining down upon them. Even so, should they continue to charge, they would only be run down by Axcel’s calvary, followed up by a secondary attack from Axcel’s sixty grounded samurai—each of whom led three ashigaru. Their job was simple—to execute those who survived the volley of arrows and eliminate the rest who charged headfirst towards Ryuichi’s camp without strategy of any sort. Their morale was high, unable to see defeat, and they would surely emerge victorious.

The roars of war echoed through the field as combat finally began, the clash of steel on steel signaled for Daiseijin-sama to lead him men into the horrors of war. One of the five men dressed in the elegant garb of the Daiseijin stood to his feet, unsheathing his blade, lifting the bottom of his mask so that his voice could be heard.
“Brother’s at arms! Today is the first step to achieving a unified Nihon. Show these nomads the wrath of God! Let no man alive keep us from total victory!” Daiseijin-sama raises his blade to the heavens, soaking in the roar of one hundred battle cries--they charge at the nomad clan’s blind side as they foolishly left their castle, and at the same time taking on the on coming forces that had spotted them.

"Ah . . . I think we're late. All of this seems so unneeded," I said aloud, looking up towards the sky, my face one of apathy. I'd allow my gaze to follow the volley of arrows through the sky, arcing overhead before falling beneath my line of sight. Still, I knew full well why this show of force was necessary, despite the obvious advantages we held--what I couldn't understand was the mindset of these nomads. These people who had lived here, who so willingly gave up their lives. It all happened so fast; suddenly they were marching to war on a few simple words from their leader. None of it made sense, barring an undying loyalty to a reckless and careless man. With a sigh, I turned my vision from the clouded sky, scratching at the back of my head as I looked over the thirty monks that were under my command. Just because I was a monk before . . . I thought, looking at them was simply nostalgic. It was a bit awkward, even. Letting my hand fall to my side, I turned and signaled toward the castle.
"Alright, let's go!" We'd approached from the far side, opposite of where I knew our new ally's forces to be. Aside from their location, I didn't really know anything about them, only what I'd need to understand about this battle. Since it seemed the enemies had left their town, it was our turn to take over what would soon be ours. If there were any enemy troops remaining, I doubted it would be hard to take care of them. They were nomads, and the monks under my command spent their lives training as warriors and men of faith. I chuckled a bit, inwardly--the thought of myself having once been a man of faith was ironic. Regardless, this would be an easy victory. We moved in as the enemy's army left their town, through the gates and into the place with ease. We met with no resistance, only workers were left. If the workers attempted to resist, we would stop them without killing them. Perhaps feeling sympathy for them was a weakness, but I smiled, knowing that their leader hadn't forced them to fight even in this situation. With us within their walls, there would be no retreating back; they were completely surrounded and their fortress taken over. It was either surrender or lose to the might of the Sakamoto forces, and, quite frankly, as I stared out at the battle in the distance, I couldn't see a surrender in the near future.

We never did plan to attack them at all, but rather, if they so choose it, to allow them to march to their deaths. It was funny really, I couldn't help laughing atop my black stallion, watching the men get bolstered from all sides whilst trying to gun for our pseudo-encampment. The ramparts made a virtual wall between my troops and the incoming enemy. To make it even worse my ashigaru bolstered to the front, their spears protruding through the front of the ramparts, they standing behind them to protect from incoming arrows. This created a literal spiked wall between the oncoming men and getting into the makeshift fort. All the while archers continued pummeling them with arrows, and my allies continued their aft and side flanks.
"Too easy."

The nomads noticed all the armies, they had been trapped. They had no where to go now and so the captain surrendered. What was left of the nomads also surrendered dropping their weapons. As it looked as if the captain dropped to his knees to surrender he did not. Taking out a dagger he cut his stomach open committing seddoku. The battle was over and the Sakamoto forces had won.

“As expected!" Axcel exclaimed, having no doubt that the Sakamoto forces would come out victorious. With the task at hand being complete, he ordered his soldiers to move out and moved on to other, more pressing matters.
Exit!
