A symphony of steps stopped and then began as the armored troops parted into two sections. The soldiers divering left and right as if they were being parted by a missive blade. From the center a Man with a young face emerged, younger than most if not all of the troops. The leader of the akatsuki clan, Arashi Akatsuki with a stoic face surveyed the area, upon him a Dō-maru black and blue in color wrapped across his body securely yet flapping with each step as his feet took steps. His body harboring his weapons by sheathe and by strap none of them seemed to burden him with their weight. Several troops grizzled men who fidgeted less than the other troops took a position of a diamond around him one in front one to the left and right and one behind him. Behind him the two flanks of soldiers marched closely. The town one that was quiet in comparison to his no doubt knew of his presence but to be absolutely certain he raised his hand with two fingers together in the air and brought them to his throat signalling for two people with horns to come to him. They began a deep sonorous sound signalling for the village to come forth and confront them.
As the bellow of iron ended the same troops unrolled scrolls proclaiming the occupation of the territory known as wakana town by the Akatsuki Forces. The scrolls were of parchment that seemed to beckon and taunt with their aggressive ink. All that was needed now was for the chief of the village to show his face and for the challenge to be accepted and then swiftly carried out. His troops stood at either side and diagonal to him if they attempted some sort of trickery they wouldn't hesitate to jump in front of their lord and retaliate.

The sound of footsteps and metal filled the air near wakana town bring disorder and worry to it's clam people. There was the sound of horns and people begin to whisper among themselves. Something was going on outside and whatever it was it had his people worried. Then not soon after he had decided to get up and see what was going on did one of him men come in. The man looked at him with a worried face as he stepped forward to hand him something.
" Sir...there is a man outside...he has a small army with him. He told me to give this to you sir. I I think he might be trouble."
The old man took the paper and quickly read over it. He knew what this was he had seem and had many of these in his years. The old man nodded and stood up straight as he said " Go and tell the man that it is accepted I will be there shortly." What that the towns men left and the old man stood alone thinking. He knew he wasn't as young as he had once been but he was still a samurai and he would fight to protect these people. With that he grabbed his armor and put it on taking his katana in his hand. As he stood there fully armored he felt years younger then he had before.
He walked out into town to meet the young man for this dual. If he was to die today it would be on the battlefield the way a samurai should. He looked at the young man and said " Now why must you come and bother this peaceful town young man."

The clamour commenced within the village, his horns had riled quite the crowd and it was evident he was to fight as a courier notified him that indeed the leader of this village town was to accept his duel. He motioned for a troop to lend him his helmet, he needed not the most elegant won that could pass for kabuki rather just a simple won. He did not expect in all honesty for the grizzled veteran samurai to with his exceeding age be able to match the vigor that he himself had, but his experience... he had to guarantee that he did not die, an injury would be fine. As the man came from his village with his hair grayed and his eyes lackluster he straightened himself, the least he could do was seem proper in the final moments of this man's life. His troops followed in suit, their posture mimicking statues now. The village watching the man paused in front of him and he waited, tensing and untensing his body making sure he was not in any sense hampered by a wound or strain of muscle.
And as he stood their, as he expected the man queried to him the question that was easy to answer but only without euphemism. Why indeed was he seeking to annex this town, this poor town with but a handful of soldiers and rice to its name? He raised his hand and balled it into a fist as if it would grasp at the hope and resistance of the villagers and brutally crush it to death, breaking their soul to fight against him. I seek conquest, and this village lies in my path. But rejoice! I seek not the lives of your kin nor your villagers, only to erase the opposing faction do I need your body to turn to a corpse. His eyes blazed jabbing daggers of vision into the man's eyes, he would have this village. I swear on my life your funeral will be conducted properly, and that these citizens shall fall under my shield as my conquest continues. He grinned arrogantly, it was his pride large and ever growing that gave him such confidence. He stretched and bowed to his opponent, the more respectful he seemed the better it would be in the long run.

The old samurai listened and watched the young man as he spoke to him and the towns people that had come out of their homes to see what was going on. It wasn't often anything like this ever happened. No one wanted or really needed a little town like this which make the answer the young man gave that much worse. He was one of those and the old man disliked him as soon as he opened his mouth. It was a simple matter of looking into ones eyes to tell his true intentions. This young man the words he said didn't match the look in his eyes. He was able to speak pretty words and say what people wanted to hear. he was a good actor but an actor none the less.
The old man was tired of his act and wanted this done with now one way or the other. He drew his sword and held it out in front of him with both hands. " Enough of this talk young man, we will settle this and no matter what happens this people are not harmed. You wish to conquer let us see if you have what it takes." That said the old man was coming at his his katana raised high ready to slash downward over the young mans chest.

It appeared that a diplomatic entrance was going to do him very little in a beneficial way, only swords would be used to talk in this negotiation, and the argument would end with a death. He began thinking of how he could quickly end this, or if he should draw out the battle. It would be bad if he killed him with many wounds, the people would obviously see it and paint him out to be torturing his opponent. His train of thought would need to speed up as he saw the man take a stance and then begin his charge at him beckoning to him to see if he had what was needed, the gall to actually rule over his village. He would answer this by smiting him with his own hands.
His eyes soaked in the details of the man's strike with the precision of a laser, documenting the angle which he knew could most likely change but not in certain fashions. His hands had already been ready, grasping one of his two swords one hand on the hilt and the other on the the sheathe he stomped forward to create a feint that he was going to charge, when in reality he simply moved forward into his space and planted his feet. His heart beated faster as he drew his breath calm and let his blade slide out of its holster with the utmost speed he could muster for the iai draw. Choosing a path of diagonal he started at the left upper thigh and aimed a path that would slice through his abdomen, then his pectoral muscles and then his deltoid. If he changed the course of his katana he would with the hand that remained on his sheathe attempt to block it with one fluid motion, if this path did not happen he would re-sheathe as was part of his iai.

The old man's blade was met with the young mans the sound of clashing metal filling the area. The two swords sled across each other as the made contact. Once done the old man moved to forward to shoulder the young man and then dragged his katana over the ground kicking up dirt at the young me. He easily thrust his katana forward to stab the man through the stomach if it made contact.

The dirt had been blocked and the helmet was coming at the old man. He manage to duck low enough to avoid the helmet while continuing on his path. he was getting tired though and his age was catching up to him. He had slowed down in his thrust a move that in his younger days would have been fast enough to catch most off guard now was sidestepped and countered. His blade was hit and the force made the old man stumble forward onto one knee he was breathing heavy now and new that he didn't have many moves lift in him. That was when he heard it and felt the mans movements near him. He went to slash out at the legs legs and it was the last thing he did as the young mans blade cut into his neck.
He feel then face forward in the dirt as blood leaked from his neck. He managed to say this last words " You path has no future boy." Then he died and with that his rule over wakana was over.
