→ Ryû kage 龍影 - A katana Ukyo had obtained quite some time ago. It was the first katana he had begun his training with all those years ago, and he still uses it to this very day. He eventually named it Ryû kage, meaning ‘Dragon Shadow’ since the handle of the blade is black reminding him of shadows, while the dragon part was something to symbolize strength and a fire within. Ryû kage happens to be a ‘four-body-blade’ which has always been just fine with Ukyo.

→ Ukyo also carries another blade with him, upon his right side, since he happens to be a left-handed wielder. This blade goes along with Ryû kage and is mostly just used as a spare incase his main weapon is knocked out of his hands during a fight, this way he is not left totally defenseless.

Looking back a little →

→ Ukyo was born and raised in a fairly normal village. His mother worked part time as a waitress while his father worked in the field of cooking. No, his parents didn’t work at the same place.. Anyways, Ukyo’s father had always preferred the thought of being a samurai, someone who could even wield a blade of some kind. But, as you can imagine his dream had never really came true, so at a young age he had gotten Ukyo to begin his training at a dojo within the village.

→ It was rather difficult at first, but it got a little easier for Ukyo as he continued to go to the dojo. But then it got difficult again as the training had gotten faster and more intense. Many long days past in Ukyo’s training as these days soon turned to months, which turned into seasons, which turned into years. His sensei had seen much potential in him over the years as he had slowly but surely become one of the best students within the class.

→ After time, Ukyo’s sensei had come to the decision that when he had passed on, Ukyo would be the one to inherit the dojo and continue to train the generations to come. However there had been a bit of a problem with his plan. His sensei had been told by someone that he was to rid of Ukyo as soon as possible, for reasons that are still unknown to Ukyo. So later one night his sensei had attacked him, and in self defense Ukyo had ended up killing his own master, thus making him the ronin he is today.

→ He is certain that his classmates may want revenge for what he had done to their master, and even the dojo as it had ended up burning down that night during the fight (caused by a candle being knocked over) but Ukyo had promised himself that he would not run from those classmates in the past, and would accept any punishment, any consequence they had in mind for what he had done to their master, even if it was just meant as self defense..

Combat

Katana Style: Ukyo had practiced in a style or two throughout the years, but in doing so, he had eventually ended up combining the styles to make a unique one all his own. In this style, it is common for movements to flow very quickly in attempts to… well, obviously chop up the opponent. This style requires one to be fairly quick and to know what they’re doing in one sense or another.

Hand to Hand Style: Ukyo’s hand to hand style is fairly unique. He had done well in his practices and is a very skilled hand to hand combatant, however it has been admitted that he is occasionally a little sloppy in his style and will need some work to master it.
